Road trip games
Classic car games that need nothing but eyes and voices, plus a license plate tracker you can tap as you spot plates. It works offline once loaded and remembers your finds.
License plate game
0/ 51 spotted
Tap a state when you see its plate. Includes Washington, D.C.
Alphabet game
Find each letter of the alphabet in order on signs, trucks and billboards outside the car. Z and Q are the hard ones: pizza places and "Quality Inn" signs are your friends. Tap the letter when someone spots it.

- 20 Questions
- One person thinks of a person, place or thing. Everyone else gets 20 yes-or-no questions to guess it.
- I Spy
- “I spy with my little eye something that is…” plus a colour or letter. Works best with younger kids and slower roads.
- The Picnic Game
- Each player adds an item to the picnic basket in alphabetical order, repeating the whole list first. Miss one and you’re out.
- Would You Rather
- Take turns asking dilemmas. Good for long straight interstates.
- Name That Tune
- Play the first few seconds of a song from the car playlist and race to name it.
- Cows on My Side
- Count cows on your side of the car. Pass a cemetery and you lose your herd. A farm-country classic.
- Story Chain
- Each person adds one sentence to a story. Set a rule that it must include something you just drove past.
- Geography
- Say a place name. The next player names a place starting with its last letter. No repeats.
The best game on a long drive is often just looking. Pick a route with something worth seeing, like the Overseas Highway's bridges or Route 66's roadside oddities, and the miles go faster.
